I was at my local Costco yesterday and they had some 2003 Chateau Ausone Bordeaux St. Emilion for $500. The woman at the checkout told me it was valued at $1,100 a bottle. My questions are 1) is it really worth that much! and 2) if it is, how does one go about finding a buyer at that price?

Thanks.

Looks like the going price is more like $1500. Is it worth it? Nah; not IMHO. Would I pay $500 for it? No, again; unless I had someone in hand that I could immediately resell it to.

Oh, and there are buyers that would pay anything for anything.

I agree with you IK. I wouldn't pay $500 for any wine unless I knew how to get at least $600 for it. One thing I learned from my days in baseball cards is that just because something is "valued" at a paricular price does not mean I can really sell it at that price. Any advice on where a private party (like myself) could sell a bottle if they bought it?

Thanks for the reply.
