Greetings all:
I was hoping to get some guidance to select a wine that I can enjoy with or without food and red.

If this makes any sense to anyone I don't care for wine with an overly wine taste nor to fruity.

I tried a Pinot Noir that was just ok but not what I was looking for.

I thought the Pinot Noir was a bit to tart and not enough body.

Hi Ray, and welcome to the Wine Board. I find that blends fall into the two categories better than single variety wines. Some examples are Cotes du Rhone and other blends from the South of France, Bordeaux in the $10 to $20 price points, Cabernet/Shiraz blends from Australia, and blends from Argentina with Malbec and others including Cabernet and Bonarda.

Tasting one Pinot Noir and saying you don't like Pinots is not really fair. There are many PNs out there from all over the world in many different styles. Maybe the one you had just wasn't your style. There are PNs from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Italy, France, the USA and other places - many different styles. In fact just in CA and OR, you can get PNs in so many different styles. So, what was the PN you didn't like - where was it from?
