There were a group of us on a Celebrity Cruise in November. One night for dinner, we were looking at the wine list and were going to order a Pinot Griego (sorry for the spelling if incorrect). Since there was 1 person in our group that drinks red wines and the rest of us are mostly white wine drinkers, our wine steward recommended something else. Herein lies my problem.... I do not remember what type it was - other than similar to a Pinot Griego. The label has a person standing in a vineyard with a shotgun while a tube-shaped UFO flies overhead. The vineyard was started in California in the 50's with vines from France.

I know.... this is strange but I have spent many hours now in liquor stores looking at labels....

Any help would be wonderful!!!

Thanks

Hi spechley and welcome to the board. It is indeed from the great Randall Grahams' Bonny Doon vineyard. Bye-the-bye, your waiter made a slight mistake in dates: the winery in the Santa Cruz mountains wasn't planted until the late seventies. WW ( You can find the wine at Argaunaut or Applejack liquors. )
