I am serving diner tonigh and it is a little strange.
app: Gefilte fish
Main: Baarbecued steak.

I am thinking Merlot sterling.

What is your opinion?

Kind of depends of what you are doing with the steak. Just grilling it instead of broiling it, would make the merlot OK. If you are going to lather it with sauce, you might run out and get a zin, such as Ravenswood Vinters Blend.
