Where can I find the wine industry's resources. Buying grapes, private labeling, distribution, importers etc.?

Also came across a couple 70 yr. old bottles of Absinthe in the family cellar, not positive what to do with them?

There are a number of trade publications which specialize in this kind of information...two of the best are Wines & Vines (the oldest) and Vineyard & Winery Management. Re the Absinthe...you could probably get a hell of a buzz on. Actually, I'm no authority on this distillate and have never tasted it. Old spirits usually have more value for their antique bottles and labels than for the liquid inside. But if yours was made in France, and especially if it was made before wormwood was made illegal, it might have some interest and value as a collectable.

Sorry I can't offer more help. If you decide to open one anywhere near Carson City, NV...I'd love to taste it, though anis/licorice (the flavor of Absinthe...think Pernod which is a non-wormwood substitute) has never been one of my favorite flavors.

If my memory is still working, I believe wormwood had been outlawed by 1915, which would make a 70 year-old absinthe either bootlegged or sans wormwood. Can anyone confirm?

According to a 1987 edition of Alexis Lichine's Encyclopedia...Absinthe with wormwood was still being made in Spain, though banned elsewhere in Europe???
