OLD CHAMPAGNE

About a year ago, my Grandmother gave me a bottle of very old champagne. It is "Taylor's New York State Champagne." She said it was purchased between 1967 and 1969. Is there any chance this is worth anything? I am also wondering if it is still any good. I wrote a letter to the address on the bottom of the label. It is the Taylor Wine Company Inc., Hammondsport, NY USA. No Zip Code. I wrote the letter about 2 months ago and have never heard anything back from them.

The winery has changed hands numerous times in the past couple of decades...I'm not even sure if it exists as a bricks and mortar facility or if it's just a brand these days.

The chances it will be good are pretty slim, but pop the cork and give it a try...it's the only way to find out. Do have a back-up bottle of something you know is good ready to press into service.

Worth anything? Nope, unless someone is into collecting 30 year old bottles.
