Deri,
Looks like you've got the answer to half your question on your other thread.

What is grappa?
A brandy distilled from pomace (the seeds & skins left after the grapes are pressed)

What is port?
A sweet fortified wine from portugal.

What is cognac?
A (grape) brandy distilled in certain regions in France. Other great French brandies include armagnac (from Gascony) and calvados (from Normady, made from apples).
