what to serve merlot with

A friend gave me a bottle of Jacob's Creek merlot. I have no idea what to serve it wiht. Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks in advance.

Hi Jenny, and welcome to the Wine Board. It would go great with buffalo steak or burgers; and I'm serious.

Also does well with a thick slab of beef grilled rare over oak or mesquite. Keep the sides simple, such as baked spuds and squash, to allow the wine and beef to work together.
