I am very new to the wine world so I cannot tell the diffrences between Pinot Noir, Merlot, Carbernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. Can anybody please explain to me about this?

Welcome James. Go to a reputable wine merchant and ask them to recommend a bottle of each that shows a varietal correct flavor profile, drink and take notes. Also purchase and read Wine for Dummies which is a good novice book.
