I love a Reisling, suppose that is my German heritage. I live in the middle of NYS wine country, wineries everywhere. I love stopping to taste the offerings of various kinds.

Recently I found a box wine, Carl Reh from Germany. It sells here for $18 for three Liter, or you can purchase 750ml bottle for $7.

This wine is fantastic, even the box style but we are having trouble getting it that way. I have tried web searches to no avail. Honestly, the box is a great deal and my middle class pallet loves it. Will also fit nicely in the old Silverton's refrigerator.

Are there any distributors that accept mail orders for this brand?

Welcome to the Board. Well, I'm very gentile, and have been all my life.

First off, NO distributors accept mail orders, or any orders, from consumers. It's pretty much illegal everywhere I know of. You should be able to get the wine from the retailer you got it from the first time. If they're out ask them to reorder, but if they won't, go to another shop and ask them to order it. BTW, the price you paid is about $6 more than I think it should sell for.

I have tried for almost a month, the distributor that carries it went out of business and not a place in the area carries it.

Many people have tried to find it, no luck. For the brief time it was available it became a hit.

Now as to the price. The bottle is high or the box? I felt the box was a bit too much but then when purchasing the 750ml bottles for $7 changed my mind.

Lake Ontario stretches east/west from Rochester to Syracuse. That's quite a stretch.

If you are near Syracuse, check Liquor Square on Erie Blvd. If you are not near Syracuse, how about a location so we can recommend.

Sorry about that, I mentioned the wine country and made assumptions. I am half way between Rochester and Syracuse.

I know Marketview Liquor is in Rochester, I believe they have a website so I was going to check it out. They are always on TV and in the paper.

Locally, I can obtain really great wine from any number of vineyards however I have found I can purchase the same brand for less at the discount stores. Doesn't make sense to me. I still stop and taste and purchase some, but one would think that the best price would be offered at the winery.

Anyway, check Century Liquors in Rochester or the House of Bacchus on Rt 104. Or maybe a store in Geneva.

There aren't many well-stocked wine shops where you are.

Thanks Foodie. Yes I am just off N. Geneva Rd. Williamson is the only place I have found it so far and they can no longer get it. Going to try Rochester next.
