I am looking for a white wine with a butterscotch flavor that is possibly readily available that does not have to be purchased over the internet

A good many California Chardonnays fill that bill. The flavor comes from malolactic fermentation and barrel influence.

Some white burgundies also have this characteristic but are generally rather expensive and may not be that readily available. One I liked in the past that had just a gentle butterscotch flavor was a Jean Marc Morey Chassagne Montrachet "Chevenottes."

Hi Nanciekiii, and welcome to the Wine Board. La Crema Chardonnay would have filled the bill last time we had it. It has been a while since we don't care for that style these days.

One wine that has a very strong butterscotch flavor (to me)
is Coppo Moscato D'Asti.
It runs around $17 and is worth every penny if you like your bubbles rather sweet.
