Approx Value on 1929 wine

Can anybody give me an approximate value on a 1929 75cl bottle of Chateau Pichon Longueville, Comtesse De Lalande.

Hi Hobart and welcome to the board.You have a very fine bottle IF the storage has been satisfactory. The value is between 1200 and 1600 USofA dollars. This is a rare enough bottle and from one of the great vintages of the century in Bordeaux that you mite waant to contact Christies auction house in London for an appraisal. WW

Thanks for your help mrdutton and winowee. I must confess to being a bit of an amatuer in this field. My reason for asking this question is that I bought this bottle in a charity auction while having consumed too much wine. I am too embarrased to reveal what I paid for it. How do I know if the wine has been stored properly and treated correctly. Is the wine drinkable at this stage?

That is the gamble with buying old wine - it is a crap shoot even under the best conditions. If properly stored, it may still be alive. Don't decant! Open the wine and drink it quick.
