what wine goes with Roast Duck and Orange sauce

I'm new at picking out wines. I will be cooking Roast Duck with Orange sauce. What kind of wine goes best with this. Red or White? Brand? please keep the price of the bottle under $40 unless there is there is a "MUST" have over that price. Also is there a "rule" to follow. Example white wines with fish, red with beef, ect. Thank you for you help.
