Which wine?

I'm having a bunch of girlfriends over for a small party. I would like to serve light appetizers and dessert. What are your opinions on which wines I should offer. I will have about 10-15 people attending. I was thinking about a Reisling and a Nouveau. I've also heard a lot of buzz about Shiraz (even sparkling Shiraz?). What do you think?

All great choices. I've had a few parties that sound like your profile and I've always found that Riesling has worked very well, especially the sweeter ones (classified as Spatlese or Auslese). If you can get your hands on a Sparkling Shiraz, it is a curiosity factor that can impress and then a Canadian Icewine would really be a group favorite....especially those who "don't like wine"
