I am realy getting into trying different wines. I started about a year ago, only drinking Merlots. But sinse I have found this site, you all have got me trying different wines.
I read Stevebody's top ten lower cost wines, and have enjoied two so far (Pepper Wood Grove Syrah 1999 & he had suggested Vega Sindoa Table Wine 60/40 Tempranillo/ Merlot but I could only find it in 70/40). My guest realy enjoied the Vega Sindoa! Thanks SB.
Have poped the cork on a Firesteed 2001 Oregon Pinot Noir And have been sipping it for about an hour as I have been reading the post on the Board. It was recomended to me by a local wine shop. They also suggested an Osborne Solaz 1999 80/20 Tempranillo/Cabernet Sauvignon that I haven't opened yet. I do like the Firesteed, and would like your input on these wines.
Also I would like any more sugestions from The Board on different wines. Especialy white wines, as I haven't tried any yet. I am looking for something my wife might enjoy. Her idea of a good wine is Wild Vines! I have read about Riesling wines and thought she might like them, any suggestions?
Thanks

I said That I had been drinking the Pinot Noir for an hour before I had posted that message. Must have affected my math ability. It was actually 70/30.

Don't let my wife know. My pet peve is people that can't do simple math. Especialy counting change.

Hey there Tankd don't let it bother you one bit. There are times when I be boozin' my na,me escapes me. You're on a fine program for wine appreciation 101. Make mental notes and then in about a year or so you'll have a fairly solid idea about what you prefer. I've had the Firesteed on many occassions and find it a very solid producer of affordable juice. Don' look to the weener for enny advice of SWs' howm-so-ebberly. Have fun in your exploration.
