I've posted on the 04 shiraz reserve somewhere in the past and this is a very similar drink. 14.2% alc. running $18 for the single bottle at the winery. Nose gives dark red fruit with a touch of red candy apple. Taste follows red fruit lines up front and along the sides of the tounge while displaying a dry earthy tone on the mid palate. Seemed a bit hot down the pipe but not offensive in the least.
Texture was kind of velvety in the mouth leaving maybe a 3 lap finish. Being a novice, I'm not sure, but perhaps could have stood some decanting as the last 1/4 of the bottle seemed a bit "silty" in the mouth, and afterward the empty glass showed a bit of residue remaining in the stem area. Still, a tasty fruit forward juice.

Oh yeah this is a good juice, at least for me. Having another with a crock pot rump roast with trimmings, that should be ready to eat in a few minutes. Still feeling some heat in the belly well after the finish. Olivers new release celebration, set up in the fields, is in a couple weeks, while using a "creek Bend" vinyard label for their home grown, fermented and bottled juice's, I hope to find someone to ask why they name this shiraz and not syrah.
Well, there's the call, time to eat! WP
