Planning on cooking a tomato based- pizza with fresh basil and pepperoni on the grill.

What can I try pairing it with?

Welcome to the board, mbrnot. Chianti Classico, Montepulciano, Barolo, Brunello ..... pick your price point.

Or you might try a Vina Antigua, Sangiovese-Bonarda, Maipu from Argentina that sells around here for $5. Don't know who they do it.

Castello di Brolio... yummy with tomato based foods!

Or Catena Malbec...

Or Cline's Old Vines Zin (the slight pepperiness of this Zin will go with the pepperiness of the basil.)

So many wines... so little time!

Cheers
