Hi,

I'm looking for a high quality vintage (rated above 90, preferrably) to give to a personal friend who is a wine collecter extraordinaire. He already has a cellar with 1,000+ bottles, and I'd really like to add a bottle that he will appreciate and enjoy. I'm leaning towards something red, a Cabernet or perhaps Shiraz, although I'm open to suggestions. The last bottle he commented on in conversation was an '87 vintage, so I'm suspecting something in that range would be appropriate. Price isn't an issue... so long as it's in the $500 range or so. Bright ideas, anyone?

J

Hi RFG and welcome to the board. You have a broad set of parameters so my suggestion is a bottle of the 2000 vintage of Latour. I know it would certainly get my attention and will give about as much pleasure as juice can on its 20+ period of maturation. WW
