Anniversary Wine

Hey Guys, my anniversary is coming up, I have $75 to spend on a bottle(s) of wine.....I am open to all types but chardonnay...hubbie doesn't care for it. Was wondering what you guys would pick?? what are your favorites?? We will be drinking it with a mix of cheeses and fresh crusty breads. Remember I am in Minnesota....I hav e a hard time getting many of the smaller Oregan producers, and the New York guys are no where to be seen.

I recently gave 100 pts to the 1995 Quintessa...a truly spectacular Meritage style from an exceptional vintage. It lists for $90 but should actually sell for just about your budget. It's one of the best creds I've tasted this year and it's elegant and kinda sexy!

Hmmmmmmm.........
Ditch the cheese & bread, scrape an extra few dollars together & go for a first growth. Truly celebratory, opportunistic and down right soul satisfying. Choose your favorite Chateaux and/or region & let the indulgence begin!!!!!!!

I had already decided to do without the cheese and bread.....would rather spend the bucks on the wine [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb/smile.gif[/img] Besides, I could not find the cheese I wanted....darn poor selection here!

Your idea of a first growth is an interesting one, I think that may be a great option!!

I like the 1st growth and no food idea. Let the wine strut its stuff. It is a heck of a treat to relax with one of these bottles and realize why these have been the standard for so long.
