Ok, I've bought a nice wine rack for a nice young lady for Christmas. I would like to buy about three bottles of wine as starters. I know that she likes Merlot and Shiraz. What are three nice wines out there for casual drinking?

99 Bogle California Merlot

'00 Rosemount Shiraz

And for the fun of it, not a merlot or shiraz but very good

'00 Georges Duboeuf Jean Descombes Morgon

All are around 10 bucks, readily avaible, widely distributed and tastey.
