Im new and trying to find a wine of the month club

My girlfriend likes really sweet wine, of which her favorite is ice wine.

I thought a wine of the month club membership would be a good gift for her, but mostly i can only find clubs that offer red or white wine.

Does anyone know a club that I may have missed that offers ice wine, or sweet wine and not just red or white?

Also, is dessert wine sweet? I came across dessert wine and seemed like it fit her tastes but I wasn't sure.

I apologize for being so newbie-ish, and if i posted this in the wrong place. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Fuller and welcome to the Wine Board. Dessert wine is sweet, but is designed to consume with sweet things. It can also be used as a quaffer. When it comes to food, which in my opinion is the primary use for wine, sweet table wines which do exist, go best with sweet dishes and certain very rich dishes. You can't eat that sort of thing all the time.

Recommend you get some sweet table wines from a retailer rather than trying to find a club to send them to you. There are many Rieslings and Chenin Blancs that are off dry or downright sweet. These are white wines. Ask for advice or be sure it dosesn't say "dry" on the label.

For reds look for Lambrusco. If you live East of the Rockies, local wineries will have both red and white sweet wines. There is also White Zinfandel which is a wine made from the Red Zinfandel grape with the skins removed. It is almost always quite sweet.

Once you get into wines like these you may be able to "graduate" into wines that seem sweet but are dry because of their fruitiness.
