I was turned on to the wine industry this week. I interviewed for a job at Jackob Gerhardt, but didn't get it. Are there any other Los Angeles based companies I can start from the ground up? I love and collect wine and want to somehow work in the business. Would love some feedback.

Hi Kenny and welcome to the Wine Board. You are lucky IMHO that you didn't get the job. Recommend breaking in at the retail level. You have a lot of opportunity in LA. If you are dead set on being a broker, you need to have a lot of knowledge already. If so, you might contact Grove Street Brokers in Healdsberg. They will let you work from afar. My broker is in Idaho. They are a completely reputable firm.
