I am getting married in November in tropical South Texas & need some recommendations for a white & red wine that would please many palates. The dinner is a mixed grill of Sirloin w/ Cabernet sauce & grilled shrimp. My fiance's guests like sweet wines, but my German family & I prefer dry wines with a bite to them. Is there anything that might please both groups. For reds, I like Merlot, but really have no other red wine experience. We would like to stay under about $10/bottle. Thank You.

For the red of choice I think you'll not find a better wine nor value than the Bogle Cabernet Sauvignon. I'll leave the white for IK of the Foodster. WW

If you have guests who like sweet wine, and guests who like dry, settle for semi-dry Riesling for the white.

How funny!! Although I am no conessieur (and obviously can't spell it either), Riesling is one of my favorite types of wine. Thanks for the suggestion.

The Bogle Petit Sirah is also an easy drinking nice wine for 10 bucks.
