I have a bottle of 1986 BV (Beaulieu Vineyard) Beau Tour Cabernet Sauvignon in very pristine condition and would like to know it's worth. I was told by a friend it's worth a lot??? And that I should either sell it or drink it soon.....

I had the 1985 version of that this year. Super. IMHO I would drink this if it was mine. I have an 1987 in the wings I'll do next year. I don't know how much $ you could get for the '86, but I think drinking a fully mature outstanding Cab of this quality would be worth more than the money you may reasonably expect to get if you sold it.

Hi hsteele and welcome to the board. The Beau Tour is the 3rd tier cab from this venerable producer and is vinified to be drunk within a year normally of it's release. If indeed Sedhead tou deank an 86 BT and it was marvelous,it was out of character. The BV Rutherford is the next level up and these wines I keep for 10 years and the top level, the BV Georges de Latour Reserve can take on lots of whiskers. But answering your question, the Beau Tour doesn't have any great value on the resale market. Your friend was probably confusing it with the Reserve. Sed gave you the proper advice, open that hummer and cross your fingers. WW
