How to store wine?

Hello. I have bought several bottles of wine and a friend told me not to stand them up. She said that the bottles should be stored lying down (on the cork) is what she said. Any more ideas?

Hi FLFlame and welcome to the board. Your friend gave you the proper info if you are going to cellar the wines for an extended time.( ^ months or longer). The critical things in the storage of wine are temperature and light. Store your wines in the darkest coolest area of your home. If you intend to drink the wines in the near term, it's no big deal.
