Chardonnay anyone?

I am (as we speak) trying my first Chardonnay. It is a '99 Shafer Vineyard Cellars Chardonnay. Yumm... any suggestions on other good Chardonnays? Is there any info you can give me on Chardonnay's in general? Is the one I am enjoying a good one?
I like it... but my tastebuds are pretty new to wine.

All chardonnay is divided into two camps. There is the oak camp and there is the unwooded camp. Go out an buy a bottle of your local Oregon Lorane Valley Chardonnay, and a bottle of Forest Glen Chardonnay. Chill and open them both with light cheese and crackers. Always try to taste wine with food whenever possible. Let us know which wine you preferred. This will determine whether you are an oakaphile or an oakaphobe. Then we can recommend wines according to the camp you elect to be in.

Great will do! But how do I taste it with food? Stupid question... but I'm an idiot. Drink first then nibble? or the other way... ugh... forgive me for being naive!!

There is no set procedure. Here's one plan. Take a drink of one of them. Clear your palate with plain bread. Have some cheese and cracker, and wash it down with the first wine. Then take notes on how it tasted with and without food. Repeat the process with the second wine. Then just try them next to each other, clearing palate with bread or cracker in between. Compare notes.
