Pinot Grigio

Sometimes you can be TOO conservative. I have been keeping a bottle of 1994 Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio - Valdadige Doc.
Being a white wine, there shouldn't be many reasons for waiting to drink it - 2-3 yrs being normal. Well, 6 years have flown by and I am afraid to find out that the time for this one has passed. Any experience out there that can help as reference is appreciated.

I don't know of any Pinot Grigio's that were meant to age. I do know though that some Sauvignon Blancs that I've kept for extended years (10) have held up well, and are very enjoyable even to this day. They tend to become somewhat delicate and very well balanced. My advice is to go ahead and open it with your next appropriate meal. It should still be okay if properly stored, but I wouldn't keep it much longer.

I looked it over at the santa margherita page and it looks like it is one of their finest. I'm convinced that it may not make it past saturday.
