My wife and I found a bottle of wine at her dad's house and he gave it to us. It is a 1991 Mendoza Malbeck Varietal red wine. The cork looks a little rotted and there are a few small chunks that float to the bottom, but other than that, it looks normal. I just don't know if I should open it, or just keep it around. Can anyone help??

Hi Dsmarchl and welcome to the Wine Board. I wouldn't hold it any longer. Open it and give it a try. If you are planning a meal or any other occasion have something in reserve.

I am not sure exactly what the winery name is. The label just says Mendoza Varietal Malbeck and under that it says Nicolas E. Fazio, product of Argentina.
