Took my wife to a blues concert on the back patio of Olivery winery. Her first winery visit. The weather was perfect and the show great, a memorable experience for our 22nd aniversary. Highly recomend this type of outing to everyone. My wife is now willing, even anxious, to visit more wineries in our region, so I kind of hit a three pointer with this deal. Keep your eyes open for a show near you! WP

Don't know if the same guy is charge, but I met the original owner/founder who was a retired Navy officer. I was at the old Bunker Hill AFB with a team and he met us and some key folks from BH at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indy with a box of wine from the region down there. Most of it was very nice stuff. Glad you had a good time down there.

I think the gentleman you refer to is still around, or at least his ideology still is. I got a short tour and the guide referred several times to the founder as either "the professor" or "the doctor". whether a degree a simply good wine skills I'm not sure. The best part of the visit is that the gardens are as beatiful as the juice is good. attention to detail makes a huge difference for me. Thanks for your thoughts. WP

You didn't ask, but I guess I should have mentioned why we were doing all this on the taxpayers ticket. We were in the MWR business which included the clubs and package stores on our bases. We had an program going whereby we were getting the folks from our bases together with local wineries in hopes of getting more folks interested in wine and thus bring more business to the clubs and p-stores.
