I'm fairly new to wines and am looking for any type of sweet wines. I really like dessert wines but would like to find something sllightly less sweet for dinner.
Any help you can give me would be appriciated!

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

These are two "dry" red wines that are particularly food friendly. By dry, I mean they have a very low to nil residual sugar which is what makes most dessert wines sweet. These still taste sweet because they are very fruity but have a slightly dry finish.

Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages at about 10 bucks. It can be found in most grocery stores or walmarts.

1999 Georges Duboeuf Morgon Jean Descombes. This is a higher level beaujolais and is pretty common. It is around 12 bucks and very good.

Barnsey's choices are right on. Another fruity red wine is barbera, either from Italy or California. The younger and more inexpensive the better. We have not mentioned whites. A good place to start is with riesling. If it is not from Alsace or Austria, and if it does not say "dry" or "trocken" on the label, it will be at least slightly off dry and sometimes very off dry. All styles of riesling are wonderful.

Welcome Sweet! If you will include your location in your info, then this stellar panel of corkpullers may be able to identify other wines likely available to you locally. Cheers.
