I am a beginner to wines. I want a good everyday red, just to enjoy a glass a day. I don't want something overwhelming as far as the alcohol goes, but would like something on the sweet or fruity side. I also need it to fall into the guidelines of a college budget. Thanks for any help in advance.

Look for a South African Cabernet "Excelsior". It's smooth, fruit forward and $8.99 per, 80,000 cases made...14% alcohol though.

Hi Predator, and welcome to the Wine Board. Try a Beaujolais Villages.
