How should I serve a Riesling?

Hello all!
Being a newbie to the world of wine, I am relying on the knowledge of an experienced wine drinking friend of mine. I've tried a merlot, chianti, white zin (is this even really a wine?), and a couple others I can't think of. Didn't really care for any of these. So, she reccommended I try a Riesling.

I know that you can't really get something that's going to be a good quality for $9, but I figured that it's somewhere to start at least. I got a Beringer Johannisberg Riesling for tonight's dinner (chicken)

After taking her advice, though, I forgot to ask her this most basic question:

How should I serve this Riesling--Cold? Room temp? Flaming hot?

Also, any advice about different wines to try would be appreciated as well [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/smile.gif[/img]

I am not sure the Beringer Riesling will do well with chicken, but it depends of course on how the chicken is fixed; in this case, I think it would need some heavy spices since I remember that wine as being on the sweet side and that would give it a nice off-setting quality.
