You might want to start on your quest of wine knowledge by reading a book or two.

One that I found interesting was The Larousse Encyclopeadia of Wine. It is descriptive, full of pictures and maps and covers most all of the major wine producing areas in the world - old world and new world.

It is available via the internet from www.amazon.com and from Barnes and Noble.
