I am trying to choose a wine for my wife who loves italian food but is picky with her wine. She does not like red wines or has not found one she does she however does like white wines that are not very dry and on the sweet side. Does anyone have any suggestions to what would be a good choice. I also live in a rural area and some wines are hard to find.

Hi Toughchoices, and welcome to the Wine Board. Try a Verdicchio. It is a white Italian wine that is on the sweet side in its less expensive more widely distributed versions. Goes well with things like pasta with a white scallop, mushroom, and spinach (frozen only) sauce.

If you are looking for a sweet white wine, I would suggest Washington Hills Late Harvest Riesling. It is very sweet and only has an alcohol content of about 9%. A true desert wine, ....but I can drink this with almost anything.
