While I was in Conn. last summer, I came across a wine called "Gavi Valfieri". The wine shop that I bought it from doesn't ship outside of Conn. Do you know where the wine originates from and where I can buy some more?

Hi Melissadoran, and welcome to the Wine Board. Gavi is a white wine from the Piedmont Region of Italy. Valfien is the producer. If you go to www.wine-searcher.com and type in Gavi and the year 2000 you will find matches and sources for many different Gavis, but not your particular producer.

Roberto at WineExpo@earthlink.com has the following on his latest "Hot List":

Figini Gavi 1997, Piemonte was $15.99 now $11.99. Dry, DRY, DRY, medium body, almond and white fruit flavors, an excellent Chardonnay alternative AND a great value.
