I have a few older bottles of wine. I'm wanting to know if they are still safe or tastefull to drink! I know about wine getting better with age... But still I want to check and please excuse me for being a newbie!

Regarding storage, they have been in my basement in boxes most of their life, except for the 1973 which I have only had for 10 years.

The oldest bottle is:
Vintage 1973 Special Selection
Alamaden
California Mountain
Gamay Beaujoulais

The other bottles are:
1988
Duna
Amonsieur Henri Sleection
Chardonnay

1988
Barton & Guestier
Chateauneuf-Du-Page

Hi Jrwpmw, and welcome to the Wine Board. Forget about the first two. The CDP is probably OK, but it was not one of the better ones to begin with.
