Newbe looking for info

Hello all, allow me introduce myself. I have been drinking wine for several years. I do not know much about different wines. I know what I like and keep trying different wine every week. When I found something I liked I would buy two bottles, drink one and store one in a wine cooler. I now have 30 bottles from all over. USA, France, Australia and Italy. Price range from $60 to $25 and 1994 to 2001. I always thought the older the wine the better. In a recent weekend trip to some wineries, I found out that wine could go bad. After reading some post on this site, I understand there is no way to know when a bottle is past it’s prime. (Other than the taste test) My question?

Is there a single source I can find a recommendation when to open a specific bottle of wine? I just hope I have not waited to long! One of my oldest bottles is Pine Ridge (Cabernet Sauvignon) 1994. Did I wait to long for this one?

Hi MCM, and welcome to the Wine Board. Your '94 Pine Ridge should be OK. If that is your worst case, things should be under control. If you have any lightweights or whites, let us know what they are. There is no single source for this info.

I would suggest researching wine storage to be sure that you are keeping your wine at the correct temperature and humidity. Always store out of direct sunlight aswell.
