Hello, I am now a Real Estate Agent who had been a full time mother all of my life. Now my acquaintances are those who understand the finer things and I do love classical music and good food but....I am cluesless to the finer wines? Hi Hefty, and welcome to the Wine Board. Even in this electronic age, nothing beats a good book. Two available now are excellent. One is Andrea Immer's, "Great Wine Made Simple." A review can be found at: http://www.wines.com/ubb2/Forum37/HTML/000644.html . It can now be found on clearance tables. The other is, you guessed it, "Wine For Dummies." It is a really good book as well.

Once thing Innkeeper forgot to mention is read through the posts here. And ask us lots of questions too. I have read Wine for Dummies and agree that its a top notch book for covering all the bases you need to know to give you that great base level of knowledge. Then you can augment that by drinking and asking us stuff. Ask all the questions you want. Most importly, DRINK DRINK DRINK.
