I am just learning and was wondering does anybody have any good suggestions for a book or guide to get me started? I am trying to learn what food to pair with what wine and also about wine in general (I want to become a chef eventualy)
By the way, what a great site

Hi, Aston, and welcome to the board. A very good source for you would be Wine For Dummies, part of the large "For Dummies" series. I'm sure that others will have suggestions also. Good luck!

I'm also in the learning mode right now -- Wine for Dummies is a great start, and another book that is very insightful (recommended to me on this board) is "Great Wine Made Simple" by Andrea Immer.

Since you are interested in food and wine matching, Andrea Immer has a followup book called, "Great Tastes Made Simple." I have both, and use them frequently.

wow! that was quick. thanks everyone, I have tried the "dummies" books and sometimes they can be too simple but I will definitly give them and the other books a read. Thanks again.
By the way, I have found a culinary website that offers a free wine course you can take, Its kinda cool and some of you may want to take a look. just choose free courses (there is also a cheese course that would go great with the wine one) I hope this will be of interest

Thanks for the tip on the website. I may look into it later on.
