Hi, I'm a newbie - this is my second message.
Anyone know of any wine-tasting (read beginner) courses in the Boston or Providence area?

Thanks,

Chet

Hi again Chet. Go to: http://www.wines.com/ubb2/Forum35/HTML/000018.html . The chief consultant at Tanza conducts courses from time to time. Give them a call.

Most of the adult and continuing education systems arround boston have wine courses (Brookline, Cambridge and Boston have them).

There are tons of great places to go for wine tastings, and in most cases explanations of the wines is given and you can learn that way. One easy way to learn about great wines on the cheap is to go to the Brookline Liquor Mart, the best wine store in Boston on Saturdays and Wednesdays. They have free wine tastings of some VERY good wines (prices of the wines tasted last saturday ranged from $25-$60).

Lorenzo at Les Zygomates gives what is probably one of the most enjoyable restaurant wine tastings every tuesday I think.

Let us know what you find and how you like it.

I would think that Johnson and Wales in Providence would have some courses that are related to wine and wine tasting.

I can not imagine why they would not........
