First off, I know absolutely nothing about wine. However I just acquired an old bottle from a relative. This is exactly what is says on the label: Chevalier de Bayard -- Recolte 1979 -- Vin de pays de l' Herault--.
If anyone can give me some information on it I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

An ordinary bottle I would guess by the Vin de pays on the bottle. It is from southern France and the current release is about 15 bucks. This wine MAY still be alive, but is most likely over the hill. Only way to know is to pull a cork.
