'Tis the season, I guess. I received two more wine gifts. My reputation must be shot!
One is a '98 Bordeaux, Les Vieilles Pierres, AOC Lussack-St. Emilion. The other is what appears to be a novelty bottle called Marilyn Merlot. It is vintage 2000. Its label is the most beautiful picture of MM. If nothing else, the label gets framed from that one. Are these wines of decent quality? Again, I'm relatively new to wine and I would be grateful for any guidance. Thanks again!

Wish I had such friends. Not great wines, but nice drinkers. IMHO the previous giver was more wine savy. Since I decant all reds except the lightest Beaujolais, would decant these too, to get a little more air in them immediately before drinking. Over the long run, air is bad.

Thank you Innkeeper. By the way I have a longtime friend who relocated to Swan Lake in Searsport this past summer. He and his bride live on Gooseneck Drive. I visited there the first and fourth weeks of September. Lots of fishin' not much catchin'!

Thanks again for your help.
