found 3 cases in a bacement

A friend of mine found 3 cases of wine in the bacement of their new house, and gave it to me.

Some tastes great, but some is very bad.

'85 Albert Morot Beaume Cent Vignes
'79 Margaux Chateau Marquis Dalesme
'79 Medoc Chateau Lanessan

My friend no longer drinks. What should I give him as a thank you; some cheese, or a car? (Is this stuff worth anything?)

Hi Danm and welcome to the board. Not familiar with the first 2 wines but the Lanessan is a nice wine that I`ve had from several vintages. Not great, but a solid wine. The 79 was a good vintage, not great, and even the 1st growths are on the cusp. I`d find out his drink of preference and give him 3 cases to as compensation. A Ferrari isn`t called for. winoweenie
