I'm interested in buying a wine guide, but I'm sure which one would be right for me. I'm a beginner, but very enthusiastic and eager to learn.

Well, why not start off with one of the favorites - Wine for Dummies. It's a really great reference book and not at all as demeaning as the name sounds.
