Please, please HELP a very green novice !!!

I brought back from London a very nice bottle of White Burgandy. I would love to share it with my friends this weekend, and I would like to know what the proper temperature to serve it is? Also, what is the proper stemware to use. I know the stemware for a Burgandy is different than for white wine, but a White Burgandy??? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Hi PJonvik, and welcome to the Wine Board. Serve the wine at 55 degress F. Wouldn't run out and buy new stemware just to serve this particular wine. If you have clear bulb shaped, widemouthed glasses of at least 8 oz capacity, they will do.

I'll play counterpoint here. I think that fine white wines lose a lot of their nuances at 55 degrees. I serve mine at around 65 degrees. FWIW.

At recent tastings, we've been making it a point to serve whites at room temperature, the same as reds. However, when at home, I guess just out of habit, I still chill them. So when in Rome.... or is it Maine.... do as....

I like about 57-60 for White Burgandy, though I do not keep it chilled after this point.Try it when it's cooler and when it is closer to room temp, soo many changes in what you smell/taste.
