Celebrity wine

Hello. i'm interested in knowing what the name of the wine is that tv shows are always showing celebrities,such as nelly and p. diddy, drinking. I know it sounds kinda like "Christah"...but i don't know how to spell it or where i can find a place to buy it...any help would be great...thank you!

I'm quite sure you are referring to a French Champagne, Louis Roederer Cristal (shortened to Cristal) which sells for as much as $180 a bottle. It is blended from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. It has been rated highly by wine experts (Tanzer gave 94 pts. to the 1996 vintage for example) but there are other equally fine Champagnes and sparkling wines at much more reasonable prices. I wouldn't seek it out just because of its popularity with pop culture stars. Roberto (also known as Botafogo) is a wine shop owner who posts on the board and he could probably suggest some excellent sparkling wines to try at different price points if you are more interested in the wine than in the personalities.
