excuse my ignorance. i have several bottles of inexpensive to moderatly inexpensive wines - both red and white - that have been sitting in a cabinet for one to ten years. how can i tell if they've gone "bad" or if they're ok?

Hi Djrdi, and welcome to the Wine Board. If the whites are dated prior to 2000, they should be used for something else. Most reds in that category, except Beaujolais Nouveau, should be drinkable. Knowing what they are would help.
