Received a fax today from an upscale retailer, one that I sometimes visit but rarely buy more than a few bottles from.... their margins are just too high. But they're hosting a tasting tomorrow that should get some attention (after months of offering nothing but swill each Saturday).

Included tomorrow will be:
Roederer Cristal Champagne
'00 Ch. Ducru Beaucaillou
'00 Ch. Cos D'Estournel
'00 Ch. Mouton Rothschild
'00 Ch. Figeac

The tastings are complimentary, and everything in the store will be offered at 20% off their normal price (their usual practice).

I probably won't bother to attend tomorrow, since none of those featured are on my shopping list and I can beat their discounted prices just about anywhere else in town. But those to be tasted are interesting.

Great line-up there IK. The Mouton is going for 400 around here. Drop by and take a 2oz. 35 buck sip. WW

A store here was tasting Krugs, so I got a few sips of their '88, selling for $170 on Friday. Tasty, certainly, but I can't stand flavor of money in my wine. I'd rather have 6 (or 10, or 12) bottles of some other wine any day.
