Over the summer, Sierra Nevada Brewing flew me down to central CA twice to visit the brewery. If you have a little extra time while in Napa or Sonoma, get over to Chico to check out the brewery, get a tour and enjoy their wonderful food and beer in their pub.

Sierra Nevada is probably one of the most high tech, environmentally friendly brewers in the world, not to mention they make some damn fine beers. If you're a beer geek as well as a cork dork, like me, you'll thoroughly enjoy the side trip.

We were in San Fran/Napa in April. I would have loved to go to Sierra Nevada since we enjoyed a few bottles on the boat to Alcatraz, but we just ran out of time.

We did meet Fritz Maytag at Anchor Brewing and had a fantastic tour we still talk about..

Fritz comes to the valley every winter and we have a ball at my favorite pushers jernt over grilled brats and his Anchor Steam. He also brings his latest release from his York Creek Vineyards. He'll be here in Feb. WW
