My husband and I live in Los Angeles and are looking for a nice vineyard to visit, sample wines, etc. that is not too far away. Sonoma is too far for us for just a weekend getaway. Something with a bed-and-breakfast nearby would be perfect! Can anyone help?

Hi Hil, and welcome to the Wine Board. Go south to Temucula and visit many wineries. Check out this site: http://www.temeculawines.org/default.htm Our favorite is Mount Palomer Winery. They produce a Meritage (a Bordeaux style wine) that sells for $18, and is as good as any that sell for as much as $80 elsewhere in the state.

A drive to Santa Barbara isn't too far--some wine (and beauty) up that way.

Hey there! Thank you both very much for the suggestions. I'm going to surf online and check out both areas.
